More details
Steven Agnew is the animal welfare spokesperson for the Green Party. Last year he held a protest outside a shop in Belfast city centre which was selling foie gras and debated the subject on the BBC Radio Ulster Talkback programme.
Every year 30 million ducks are forced into cages so small they can’t even stretch their wings. A metal tube is thrust down their throats and vast quantities of food are forcibly pumped into their stomachs. Their livers painfully swell up to 10 times their natural size.
Foie gras is being sold in shops and restaurants all over Northern Ireland, despite the fact that the practice has been outlawed here for several years.

I was disappointed to receive a reply that didn't even refer to foie gras and simply recommended that I order one of their veggie options!
