More details
I believe the state of the buses in Guildford is appalling.
My pledge is to keep a bus diary to note the following problems that I think are common place:
The bus is late.
The bus is cancelled.
The bus is in a state of disrepair.
The bus breaks down during my journey.
The bus is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
Anyone who uses the buses in Guildford is welcome to take part. I would like it if your bus diary can include the time and date of your journey, starting bus stop, direction of travel (or end bus stop), route number and bus company. Then give details of the problem you have with that journey or bus. If you can provide the bus number that would be very helpful, on Arriva buses it should be written somewhere above the driver's area.
I hope that this information will be able to show these problems in greater detail. It will also enable us to present more information to the bus companies involved when asking for improvements to their services.

In some cases (particularly if there's two or more in a group) a taxi can actually work out cheaper.
Bus fares have recently increased on Arriva buses again. It now costs me £2.50 every day for a return to work, but often the bus is late (sometimes I take taxis to work which costs around £10 just to avoid being *really* late).
It's worse on the way home, sometimes I wait for ages and then the bus is full as it picks up more people on the round because it's late or the one ahead has been cancelled.
